Due to COVID-19, the South Korean Government has decided to temporarily suspend the Re-Entry Permit Exemption. Therefore, any student with a D-2 visa and valid alien registration card (ARC)must obtain a Re-Entry Permitbefore they leave Korea and must submit a negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test resultin order to re-enter the country. Details regarding the mentioned documents are below:
1. Suspension of Re-Entry Permit Exemption and Application for Re-Entry Permit (For D-2 holders)
- Leaving the ROK without a Re-Entry Permit will result in the cancellation of your Alien Registration information, which means you will need to re-apply for a new D-2 visa.
- The second date box of 'Authorized Period of Re-entry' should be:
a) If your ARC expiration date is more than 1 year: choose a date within a year
b) If your ARC expiration date is less than 1 year: choose a date within your expiration date
- Issuance fee: 24,800 KRW (Some exceptions may apply)
- Please check with your airline and country regulations if you need a negative COVID test

2. Submission of PCR Test Result for Re-Entry (For all regardless of nationality)
- Anyone seeking re-entry into the ROK after departure is required to submit a negative PCR test that is issued within 72 hours prior to the date of departure for the ROK.
- Please keep in mind the test result must be printed either in Korean or English. If you cannot get the document in either language, you must find a translator to translate the document and fill out the Certificate of Translation (attached below)
3. Fall 2021 Quarantine
- If you wish to quarantine on campus during Fall 2021, please note that you must arrive in Korea between August 2 (Monday) and August 6 (Friday), 2021.
